Dunkin' Cereal Review – Caramel Macchiato + Mocha Latte

Hey y'all, Emily here, and I am coming at you today with my first ever snack review. Today we're testing out the fairly new Dunkin' cereals that they did with Post Cereals.

I'm really excited to try these. I love Dunkin'. I love snacks. When I order coffee, I usually order a mocha latte or a caramel macchiato, and that just happens to be the two flavors of cereal here. So I think I'm going to love them.

Caramel Macchiato

We're starting with Caramel Macchiato because that's the one I'm most excited about. The packaging is really nice, the back of this box has the history of Dunkin' on it.

The smell is the first thing you notice: sweet caramel, more dessert than coffee. The pieces are crunchy little squares and they hold up well in milk instead of going soggy in thirty seconds.

Flavor-wise it's sweeter than it is coffee-forward. If you're expecting a mouthful of espresso, that's not this. It reads like a caramel cereal with a coffee finish, and honestly that's what makes it work as a breakfast cereal instead of a novelty.

Mocha Latte

The Mocha Latte box has a bunch of fun facts on the back instead. This one is the more chocolate-leaning of the two, and the coffee note comes through a little stronger here than in the caramel.

If you like chocolate cereals, this is the one for you. The leftover milk at the bottom of the bowl is the best part, basically chocolate milk with a coffee edge.

Final Thoughts

Both of these are worth grabbing if you see them. Caramel Macchiato is my favorite of the two, but Mocha Latte is the one I'd buy again for the milk alone. Neither one is going to replace an actual Dunkin' run, and neither one has caffeine, so don't go in expecting your morning coffee in a bowl.
